For those using Photoshop they now offer content credentials (Beta currently) that can be registered online, or added to the image. (I think online is safer, in case you end up defending it legally)

So someone can add copyright metadata, the little © symbol on the artwork, and register it for free with Adobe.
Meaning there's now 3 free ways to mark your work as yours, one of them (the content credentials) is held online for you.
That is fantastic feature Adobe has. It is good to know there are many options to protect your work. Thank you for sharing.
